Graduate Spotlight: Jennifer Hight
Jennifer Hight, OTD, MS, OTR/L is a graduate of the EKU Online Occupational Therapy Doctoral (OTD) program.
Why did you choose the EKU Online OTD program?
Eastern Kentucky University’s Doctoral Program was the best choice for me as a practicing occupational therapist. The program provided flexibility in scheduling, as well as freedom to explore areas of occupational therapy relevant to my area of practice.
What did you like best about the program?
My applied leadership experience provided an opportunity for greater depth in understanding the current systems providing occupational therapy service delivery, as well as exploring the needs of my community related to occupational therapy. I interpreted and developed this information into my capstone project where I designed and implemented community based programming to promote physical activity in the preschool population while assessing parental perceptions of their child’s level of engagement in movement after participation.
What would you tell others who are considering the program?
Eastern Kentucky University’s Occupational Therapy Doctoral program allowed me to grow professionally as an occupational therapist, and I am confident I made the best choice for furthering my education.
