My dear dog Nick died in December, leaving me and my other dog Maddie sad and a bit bewildered. It took us a while to feel ready, but over this Labor Day weekend I went to the pound and picked out a new dog. Sadie is a non-descript but beautiful petite black shepherd mix. I was told that she is 3 years old, but she looks like a puppy to me!
